What RateSonar is
RateSonar records the rates Australian lenders advertise, with the day each rate was recorded. It is information, not financial advice. A recorded rate can be out of date, wrong at the source, or no longer offered. Check a rate with the lender before you act on it.
Free use
You can browse the site, and you or your AI agent can call the API and the MCP server at api.ratesonar.com, at no cost and within the limits below. You do not need an account for this. The free limits suit personal use; a business that needs more can ask for a subscription.
Usage limits
| Who | A minute | A day |
|---|---|---|
| No account, per address | 60 | 200 |
| Claude and ChatGPT servers, per address | 240 | 200 |
| Signed-in account | 300 | 1,000 |
| Business use | By agreement | By agreement |
Limits count tool calls and API data calls. Several keys on one account share one limit. A day starts at midnight UTC. Responses tell your agent how much of the day it has used. When a limit is reached, further calls are refused until it resets. The refusal says when, and gives the email to ask for more usage. We may change these limits; this page shows the current ones.
Fair use
Use RateSonar to look up, compare and cite rates. You may quote a figure if you name RateSonar as the source and give the date it was recorded. Do not:
- copy the data in bulk, or use it to build a database or service that competes with RateSonar;
- resell, license or republish the data as a feed without a written agreement with us;
- get around the limits, for example with many addresses, many keys or automated sign-ups;
- send traffic that slows the service for others, or probe it for weaknesses;
- present a recorded rate as a live quote or an offer from a lender.
We may slow down, refuse or block traffic that breaks these terms, without notice.
Higher limits and pricing
For more calls, full history, exports or a data agreement, email [email protected] or ask for higher limits or pricing. Tell us what you are building and roughly how many calls a day you need.
Accounts
If you sign in, keep your sign-in and API keys private. You are responsible for calls made with your keys. You can revoke a key or close your account at any time. What we store about you is on the privacy page.
No promise of accuracy
We provide the data as it is, with no promise that it is complete, current or right for your purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. If you keep using RateSonar after a change, the new terms apply.
